A relaxed Vallespir heritage day
From the apartment to the first stop; excludes the rest of the day.
Give Arles-sur-Tech the morning and Palalda the afternoon. Confirm the abbey visit period and split sessions; the towns are separate from ticketed interiors.
Stops in this plan
Sainte-Marie abbey, Arles-sur-Tech
The Romanesque abbey of Sainte-Marie brings cloisters, carved stone and the story of the Sainte Tombe together in the heart of Arles-sur-Tech. Combine the visit with a wander through the village rather than rushing straight back to the car.
Opening and seasons
January–March and November–December, Monday–Friday 10:00–12:00 / 14:00–17:00. April–June and September–October, Tuesday–Sunday 09:30–12:30 / 14:00–18:00. July–August daily 09:30–12:30 / 14:00–18:30. Last admission 45 minutes before closing. Events may interrupt visits.
Palalda medieval village
Palalda's stone lanes climb past old houses to Saint-Martin church, with the Tech valley spread out below. Come for an unhurried village wander, photographs and a meal at Café Perché. Allow for steps and steep lanes.
Café Perché
A terrace with sweeping Tech-valley views in the heart of medieval Palalda. Recent diners repeatedly appreciate the cooking, warm welcome and setting. Come after exploring the village for lunch, coffee or a drink; meal service is separate from café opening.
