Walking and cycling around Amélie
Start with an exact official route
The valley has village walks, hiking sheets and cycling connections, but a destination pin is not a trail. Use the named route and current manager information. We do not publish a followable track until its geometry, permitted use, redistribution rights and current access have passed review. The two original bike-path pins are retained as reference points, not certified route endpoints.
Use your navigation app without changing the route
For Komoot, Wikiloc, Garmin or another app, obtain the manager’s exact route before importing a GPX. Check the version and permitted activity; an app can recalculate a route and send you onto a different path. No automatic trail link here invents a loop from map points. Pirinexus has its own manager tracks and planner; the whole touring circuit is not a short family ride.
Check conditions as well as distance
Heat, fire restrictions, hunting notices, water, road sharing and mountain weather can change suitability. Palalda has steps and gradients. Canigó and the Bouillouses area require separate mountain and access planning; seasonal roads and shuttles can affect the approach. Choose a graded official route that suits your experience, check local notices and tell a companion your plan.
Palalda's stone lanes climb past old houses to Saint-Martin church, with the Tech valley spread out below. Come for an unhurried village wander, photographs and a meal at Café Perché. Allow for steps and steep lanes.
The Vallespir greenway corridor offers a gentler way to discover the valley than the mountain roads. Use the official cycle information to select your section around Reynès, with a village or café stop along the way. This pin is a planning reference, not a published ride track.
Directions
Montalba's stone hamlet gives a taste of the rugged, wooded country above Amélie. Visit for the setting or use official route information to choose a separate mountain walk. The marker identifies the hamlet; it does not define a trail or guarantee a walking route.
Directions
Drive to Col de Jou; the mountain hike is additional.
Canigó is the mountain that defines the region's skyline and Catalan identity. Forest walks and high mountain outings offer very different levels of effort. The pin marks the summit as a landscape reference, not a driving destination; choose an official graded route and prepare for mountain conditions.
Authoritative trail resources
We have not certified downloadable tracks. Open the exact manager route before using Komoot, Wikiloc or another navigation app; do not substitute a similarly named community trail. An app import does not certify access or safety.
